Sarah Dawn Finer was born 1981 and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, the youngest of three to a British father and an American mother. Sarah’s brother Rennie Mirro is a well renowned artist/dancer in musicals – his latest success Singin in the Rain. Sister Zoie Finer is an up & coming jazz- and gospel singer who also acts as a voice coach and teaches music.

One could say that Sarah was born with music in her bones seeing as how it has always been part of her life. Growing up with a strong musical influence in a Jewish African American collective community where music, dancing and singing equaled life, Sarah got entangled with the gift of music ever since she could walk.
With an opera singer for a grandmother and Rennie’s father musician Eric Bibb close by, sharing a wide variety of music throughout her childhood - this all adds up to Sarah’s deep and diverse musical foundation.

Today Sarah lives and breathes music in Stockholm, Sweden – calling multicultural music Mecca New York her 2nd hometown in the world.

School Years (coming)

Music Career (smore coming...)

..................................................
Sarah began her singing career as a backing vocalist and studio session singer for other artists. For over a decade she was an undeniable force in contemporary music of all genres where she largely delivered on the promise.
Her dedication and energy attracted the cream of Sweden's music industry and world musicians; Sarah worked and toured constantly in the late 90’s offering intense emotionally-driven vocalizing to other great names like Peter Jöback, Agnetha Fältskog (ABBA), Stephen Simmonds, Eric Bibb, Eric Gadd, Jill Johnson etc etc

Her star began to rise and Sarah soon became the most influential female singer of her generation and one of the most enduring Swedish popular music performers of all time! This all also led on to stage acting and performances in musicals Rent and Godspell, various stage and comedy shows like Livet and Humorator på Grand. Sarah was one of the key participants in the all-star TV music show Så ska det låta in 2006 and 2007 and has made numerous unforgettable guest appearances on various royal, charity- and award events.

Sarah works as a vocal coach for other artists and also does commercial work like voice acting and speaking parts on animated film/TV series.

- So by the time Roxy Recordings signed her in the spring of 2007, Sarah was already a fully fledged singer/songwriter/artist with 13 years of professional singing experience tucked neatly under her belt.

New York

With just a suitcase of clothes and a suitcase of music, Sarah took time off to regroup and travel and moved to New York in 2003. This to get a much needed brake but also to focus on developing her craft as a singer and songwriter.
- After years of backgroundsinging and vocal artistry Sarah finally decided it was time to answer the voice that screamed out inside of her...

She had been a part of the elite inner circle of artistic musical elements and had worked with several top notch songwriters for over a decade so Sarah knew what she was after. Finding her own vocal expression was the next big step.
At this point there had already been years of endless nights of embracing the guitarr writing songs, so it didn’t take Sarah long to find the voice or words in which to tell her own stories.

And so Sarah spread her wings and began her love affair with making music.
Her own music.

EP

Sarah burst onto the soul- and popular music scene in 2005 with an auspicious self-titled debut solo EP Sarah Dawn Finer - produced and recorded by Sarah herself!
The disc displayed a young artist who clearly had the pipes, but was also a developing song stylist, able to interpret both modern rock, pop, R&B and soulmusic.

The EP was released and launched in late November to a packed audience at The Grill in Stockholm and showcased Sarah’s versatility and ability scaling musical divides of all genres.
Sarah demonstrated considerable guts and her prodigious talent when she leaped in at the deep end and delivered such solid music – and it was immediately clear to everyone that she also was a true - and distinctive - vocal talent.

A Finer Dawn

Sarah’s confident full-length debut album A Finer Dawn - party-released at Berns in Stockholm in late May 2007 - is an openhearted collection of up-tempo cuts and fluid slow grooves of personalized confessions.

Sarah covers all the spiritual and emotional symmetry that has become trademark of her onstage performance, and feel-good harmonies is found sprinkled throughout this wondrously infectious album.
Each and every cut presented is effortlessly strong and intoxicating, most often capturing the emotional exuberance of finding love - as well as the excruciating pain associated with losing it...

Sarah has poured passion and appealing eccentricity into a dozen inventive tunes that reflect contemporary soul/R&B/rock and pop music. She has written, arranged, and produced most of the 12 tracks herself, only enlisting a small qualified team of gifted artists/producers to help complement her distinct potent sound;

Patrik Isaksson, Peter Jöback, Stephen Simmonds and Marit Bergman has all added musical artistry to A Finer Dawn - yet this powerful album’s cohesive body of work and definite sound illuminates Sarah’s unequaled craftsmanship.
